Oppotunities for social
enterprise
The Government has recently launched its £1 billion Future
Jobs Fund to support the creation of jobs for long-term unemployed
young people and others who live in unemployment hotspots. The
fund, managed by the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP), is
seeking bids which create at least 30 new jobs over a six month
period and are strongly encouraging partnerships between local
authorities and social enterprises.
For each new job created, the employing organisation would
receive up to £6,500. Each bid will need to demonstrate that:
- it will create extra jobs lasting at least 6 months, either for
long term unemployed young people or people in unemployment
hotspots
- the work done will benefit local communities
- the work will be under way quickly
Further information is available on the
DWP website.
Social Enterprise London would also be interested in
hearing from you if you would like to get involved or if you have
already submitted a bid. You can contact Social Enterprise London
